Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In cases of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the latter will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Neath, you must be at least 21 years of age. Note that age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid driving licence, appropriate for the vehicle category, must be held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address are required, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional criteria may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Neath office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be filled out and signed to document the state of the car. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as it was when collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental; otherwise, refueling fees will apply. Late returns may result in extra charges, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, plus any applicable administration fees.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive coverage details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to minimize your financial liability, so reviewing these is wise. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess amount unless you obtain extra coverage. Damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance policy.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any unlawful activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any other dangerous driving behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight or passenger limits, and operating outside designated geographical areas without authorization is also unacceptable.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Neath will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the total rental fee paid in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in England and Wales.
10. Updates to Terms
We can update these Terms at our discretion. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
